Paul "Brian" Spurlock opened Disability Law Center, Inc. in 1986. He is a graduate Loyola New Orleans College of Law and licensed to practice law in Louisiana. He has been practicing Social Security disability law for over 35 years, He is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR), a former ad hoc judge, and is honored to serve as President of the Fifth Circuit Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (See fosscr.org) for 4 years (on his 3rd term). He has lectured for NOSSCR, FOSSCR, the Federal Bar Association, and many others.
Associate Attorneys
James "Jim" Hashek has been practicing Social Security disability law with the Disability Law Center, Inc. since 2010. Jim is a Law Review graduate of Loyola University New Orleans College of Law and is licensed to practice law in Louisiana. He has taught law, legal writing and journalism in undergraduate programs at Loyola-New Orleans, the University of New Orleans and Tulane University. He has been one of the Assistant Bar Examiners grading the Louisiana Bar Exam biannually, by appointment of the Louisiana Supreme Court. He has been consulted as a source for news reports about, and lectured to legal professionals concerning, recent legal developments.

Judge Eirleen Eckholdt Brown was an administrative law judge for the Social Security Administration prior to retirement and working with our firm. She is a Louisiana licensed attorney.

Jack Quarles has been with the Disability Law Center, Inc. since 2010. Jack is a graduate of Tulane University New Orleans College of Law and is licensed to practice law in Louisiana. Prior to work at our firm, Jack worked with Disability Determination Services for Social Security as a claim's consultant prior to working with our firm.

Hilary Thompson has been working with our law firm since her 3L year of law school. She was inducted as a member Phi Delta Phi in her first year of law school, the legal honors society, from Loyola New Orleans College of Law & is licensed in Louisiana. Hilary remains active in her community, politics, and church as a junior associate attorney.
